    tricky location
    lackluster breakfast

Overall, the mansion has a lovely, charming atmosphere, and the staff is friendly and helpful, evoking a sense of home. Unfortunately, locating the place was a bit tricky, and the breakfast options were lackluster. Still, I'd definitely recommend it for a unique stay!

Great place to stay. The location is perfect, right by many restaurants and shops. The staff were friendly and always helpful. I loved the cozy game room and vintage decor. The kitchen was well-equipped for cooking.

    clean dorm
    cozy game room

    would come back again

The women's dorm was super clean and bright. Showers worked great and had good pressure. The breakfast was pretty basic with coffee and bagels, but the kitchen had everything you’d need if you wanted to cook. The location's key, close to food spots and parks. A nice cozy atmosphere everywhere. A sweet game room!

    fantastic location
    clean safe space
    dim lighting

Had a great time with my friends! The location is fantastic, and we enjoyed visiting McKinley Park and William Land Park. It was perfect for relaxing and hanging out. The place is clean and safe. It's nice that it can be rented out for private events. Just a heads up, there’s a quiet vibe here, so don’t expect a party atmosphere but perfect if you're looking for some chill time.

However, I felt the lighting in the common areas was a bit dim, which made it hard to hang out comfortably. It could use a bit more brightness.

    fresh local flavors
    clean shared spaces
    friendly staff
    loud street noise
    poor soundproofing

Diving into the dining scene nearby was a treat! Grange Restaurant & Bar and Ella Dining Room & Bar offered dishes that sang with fresh, local flavors. Plus, the hostel vibe took me back—clean shared spaces and friendly staff made me feel right at home.

But let's keep it real. the noise from the outside kept me tossing and turning all night—modern sound-proof windows would have worked wonders. Still, the charm of the mansion and the convenience of nearby eats helped me keep my spirits up.

The ambiance was impressive, featuring vintage decor and themed photos throughout the facility. I particularly appreciated the cozy game room, which provided a relaxing atmosphere ideal for unwinding after a long day of work. Additionally, the breakfast offered well-prepared options including freshly baked croissants and a variety of organic juices.

    WiFi connectivity could be improved.

    family activities

This cozy spot has a charming Victorian vibe and was perfect for our family getaway. We loved exploring McKinley Park with our little dog, enjoying the beautiful garden space. Meeting other guests during breakfast in the spacious dining area led to some great conversations too.

In my wife’s opinion, more family activities would be great.

    great ambiance but some noise

The historic ambiance was charming and allowed us to immerse in the building's past. The game room provided a unique touch, making our downtime enjoyable.

The proximity to the street came with some noise, disrupting our sleep at times.
